How to: Setup Auto DM on an Instagram Post

Linking a post on LinkDM allows you to automate direct messages (DMs) to users who comment on your Instagram posts.

Step-by-Step Guide

Complete the prerequisite requirements before proceeding with this guide.

‍Log In: Log in to your LinkDM account.‍
Dashboard Overview: Once logged in, you will be taken to the dashboard where you will see all your recent posts. In the top section, it will show your latest unlinked Instagram posts.‍
Select a Post: Find the post you would like to add a link to and click the 'Add Link' button on that post.‍
Compose the DM: A pop-up will appear where you can compose how the DM will look once sent to someone's inbox. You can use either the button template or the message template style.‍
Button Template: Allows you to enter up to three URLs, each with their own button, along with one image and a headline. You can also replace the image that is automatically loaded from the metadata.‍
Message Template: Sends a standard text-only DM, which can contain multiple links and up to 1,000 characters. However, with the message template, you won't be able to track key metrics such as open rate and total clicks.‍
Add a Trigger: Click on the 'Trigger' submenu at the top of the pop-up. Here you can select what kind of trigger type you would like to use for this post. By default, the 'All Comments' trigger type is selected, meaning all comments received on this post will be sent the composed DM. You can change this by clicking the drop-down menu and selecting the 'Keywords' trigger type, for example.‍
Save: Click 'Save' once you have finished composing your DM and have selected the trigger. Your linked post will be saved and effective immediately.‍
Edit a Linked Post: If you would like to edit your linked post, you can scroll down on the dashboard and click the green 'Linked' button on the post you want to edit.
