Trigger Type: Share to Inbox

Share to Inbox is a new trigger type that sends a DM when someone shares your Instagram post to your inbox—rather than commenting on it.

This helps increase shares on your content, which can boost reach and performance in the Instagram algorithm.

What it does

Instead of relying on a comment to trigger your automation, this option sends a DM when a follower taps the share icon on your post and chooses “Send to” → your account. Once they send it to your inbox, LinkDM automatically replies with your pre-set DM.

This is only available for Instagram posts.

How it works

Select the post and compose your AutoDM as you normally would
Click on the “Trigger” submenu
Select “Share to Inbox” as the trigger type
Write your DM message
Save the automation

That’s it—once the post is live, anyone who shares it to your inbox will get your DM instantly.
