Creating Lead Gen Forms in LinkDM

Lead Generation is a Pro feature that lets you collect valuable user information directly inside Instagram DMs—one question at a time. You can create up to 10 Lead Gen forms, each fully customizable and attachable to AutoDMs, Flow Automations, or Universal Triggers.

Where to find it

Go to Features > Leads in your dashboard to access your forms, analytics, and downloads.

How it works

Click “Create New Form”
Add fields like Name, Email, Phone, DOB, Custom Field, or Multiple Choice
Optionally include a Welcome Message (always appears first)
Add a Confirmation Message (required; always appears last)
Drag and drop to reorder your fields
See a live preview of your Lead Gen experience as you build

Each form can contain up to 10 fields.

Available Field Types

Email (added by default, can be removed)
Name
Phone Number
Date of Birth
Custom Field (free-text question; add multiple)
Multiple Choice (one answer, button-style)
Welcome Message (optional)
Confirmation Message (required)

Some fields allow you to disable “Required” and enable a Skip button for user convenience.

Attaching a Lead Gen Form

You can attach a Lead Gen form to:

A CTA Button inside an AutoDM
A button in a Flow Automation
A button in a Universal Trigger

To do this, choose “Leads” from the CTA link dropdown, then select one of your saved forms.

Managing Your Forms

View performance stats: Sent, Started, Leads, CR% (Completion Rate)
Download all leads as a CSV (rate-limited to 5 downloads per 10 minutes)
All data is stored securely, encrypted and hashed
Edit forms at any time
If a form is linked to a button and you try to delete it, you’ll be prompted to either remove it from use or archive it

Archived forms are inactive but saved. Deleted forms are removed permanently.

Form Behavior

If Multiple Entries is disabled, returning users who’ve completed the form will see only the confirmation message
If enabled, they can complete the form again
Confirmation messages are fully customizable
Welcome Messages are optional but will always appear first if added

How many Lead Gen forms can I create?‍

Pro users can create up to 10 active forms.

Can I attach a Lead Gen form to any button?‍

Yes, you can attach it to CTA buttons in AutoDMs, Flows, and Universal Triggers.

What happens if a user completes a form more than once?

If “Allow Multiple Entries” is disabled, they’ll only see the confirmation message on repeat attempts.
‍

Is a Welcome Message required?

No. It’s optional and will always appear first if included.
‍

Can I reorder the fields in my form?

Yes, you can drag and drop fields—except the Welcome Message (always first) and Confirmation Message (always last).

Are leads stored securely?

Yes, all lead data is encrypted and hashed.

Can I download the leads?

Yes, you can export all leads from the Leads page as a CSV file

Can I delete a form that’s in use?

You’ll be prompted to either archive it or remove it from where it’s being used.

Can I add the same field more than once?

Only Custom Fields can be added multiple times.

What is Multiple Choice used for?

It allows you to ask a question with clickable quick reply buttons—users can select only one answer before continuing.
