Yes! As of June 2021 Instagram now allows automation tools. Instagram has a very strict approval process which requires each developer to submit their software or application for an independent review before they can release their software to the public. (Our application was approved on June 21st!)

Previously developers made their own tools or ‘bots’ that would auto-follow or auto-comment on posts with certain hashtags and these types of tools were completely against the Instagram policy. These developers would then be blacklisted from building tools on Instagram.
