What are Broadcast segments?

Segments let you group active contacts based on the post automation or trigger they engaged with.

This helps you send more relevant Broadcasts instead of sending every message to all active contacts.

For example,

Fashion affiliate creator, you could create segments such as:

Weekly Sales
New Drops
Personal Favs

Food creators you could create segments such as:

Weekly Recipes
Meal Plans
Kitchen Finds

How segments work

A contact can only belong to one Broadcast segment at a time. This means there is no overlap between segments, and each eligible contact will only be counted in one segment.

LinkDM will show an estimated number of active contacts for each segment before you send.

Default segment

During Broadcast setup, you can choose a default segment. The default segment is used when a contact becomes active but no specific segment has been assigned from the post automation or trigger.

You can also update the default segment from Broadcast settings.

Assigning segments to posts and triggers

You can assign a Broadcast segment from your post automation or Universal Trigger settings. When someone engages with that post or trigger and becomes active, they will be added to the selected segment. If you enable Apply to all future automations, LinkDM will automatically apply your Broadcast Starter DM and selected segment to new post automations and triggers.

Segment limits

You must have at least 1 segment, and can create up to 5 segments.

FAQ

Can a contact be in more than one segment?‍
No. Each contact can only belong to one Broadcast segment at a time.
