Getting Started with Broadcast

What is Broadcast?

Broadcast lets you send a DM to multiple active contacts at once on Instagram and Facebook. It is designed for sending timely updates, links, offers, product drops or announcements to followers who have recently engaged with you through the inbox.

⚠️ During the beta phase, Broadcast is limited to 1 Broadcast every 24 hours. This limit may change as the feature continues to improve.

How active contacts work

Broadcasts can only be sent to active contacts. An active contact is someone who has engaged with you through the inbox within the last 24 hours.

This can happen when someone:

Sends you a DM
Replies to your story
Clicks a Broadcast Starter DM button
Clicks a Quick Reply option
Engages with your Flow Automation

Instagram and Facebook only allow certain types of DMs to be sent when a user has an active messaging window. Broadcast uses this active window so your message can be sent as a push notification to eligible contacts.

Active contact count

Your active contact count can increase or decrease over time. A contact may become active when they engage with you, or become inactive once their 24-hour window expires.
‍

When sending a Broadcast, LinkDM will only include contacts who are eligible at the time the Broadcast is sent. If a contact is not currently active, they cannot receive a Broadcast. To help more followers become active, you can use Broadcast Starter DM on your post automations and triggers.
